Why are we giving a CD away for free?
In an era dominated by streaming, genuine community connections between artists and fans often take a backseat.
One true connection between us and a listener is more rewarding than thousands of anonymous streams lost in a corporate data field.
We are searching for people who appreciate a tangible connection to their music and love to hold an album in their hands.
Despite not all of our albums being released in physical form yet, building a community of fans who share these values could help us bridge this gap.
We warmly extend an invitation to get to know us and become part of our community!
Our story: from freelancers to friends...
The three of us crossed paths while working as side-men on the Philadelphia Jazz scene, and from the moment we played together, there was an undeniable chemistry.
Deciding to defy jazz conventions, where soloists usually take the spotlight, we formed our own band and developed a strong camaraderie.
Over the last five years, we've released five albums and hosted over sixty DIY concerts in Philadelphia, utilizing these intimate gatherings to refine our compositions, explore new sonic territories, and foster a deeper original music community within our local music scene.
We recently formed our own independent record label, Each and Only.
The U, S, and E...
Born in the Philadelphia suburbs, of Colombian descent, saxophonist Andrew Urbina has deeply engaged with music scenes in Boston, Montreal, and Bogota.
Hailing from Wilmington, Delaware, drummer Matt Scarano has built a versatile career performing and recording globally, while remaining heavily involved in the Philadelphia music scene.
Originally from Atlantic City, NJ, bassist Sandy Eldred relocated to Philadelphia, where he became one of the city's top players, also establishing himself as a player and educator on the jazz scene in Ukraine.
We've learned from the best...
With a combined six decades of musical expertise, we've been mentored by luminaries like George Garzone, Jerry Bergonzi, Ben Schachter, Byron Landham, Derrick Hodge, and Mark Helias.
Our performances have spanned across the United States, Canada, South America, and Europe.
We've shared the stage with notable artists including Dick Oatts, John Hollenbeck, Theo Bleckman, Ra Kalam Bob Moses, Time for Three, My Morning Jacket, Matisyahu, and Amos Lee.
Community...
We love being a part of Philadelphia's vibrant music community!
Philadelphia has a rich musical history and an abundance of world-class musicians.
We've been fortunate to collaborate with both seasoned legends and rising talents from the city.
Our experiences as freelance musicians have been instrumental in shaping us into the accomplished artists we are today.
& camaraderie...
Still, nothing compares to the journey of being in a band.
The bond we share as we evolve together continually fuels our inspiration, propelling our music to new heights.
Our music has been hailed as "adventurous, exciting, fresh, focused, honest, organic, ferocious, and unapologetically original."
